Kebechet means cooling water, and she was associated with embalming and keeping the dead hydrated, refreshed and purified until they rebirthed. The offering of water was an important part of preparing for the after life and relatives would be comforted to know she was caring for them. She was also seen as the neter who could open the sky and free the spirit from the body. She assisted her Father, Anubis in mummifying the dead. She was depicted as a woman with a head of a serpent.
She was closely linked to the Nile River and the Great Sky River (the milky way).
She is seen as a purifier, bringing harmony. She offers her waters to help cool, clear and restore you.
She is great if you are needing refreshment, feeling dull or depressed as she brings renewed interest and flushes away melancholy.
